DEFINITION
About Mindfulness
Meditation, mindfulness, and biofeedback are foundational mind-body practices offered at our clinic to support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and whole-person healing. Through personalized sessions or small groups, and sometimes as part of your regular doctor’s visit, patients learn to cultivate present-moment awareness, reduce stress, and improve physiological self-regulation.
These practices are especially helpful for chronic pain, anxiety, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and trauma-related conditions, offering evidence-based, non-pharmacological tools that complement other integrative treatments.
Mindfulness practices include meditation, gentle movement, and breath-based practices such as yoga, qigong, and Somatic Experiencing, as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches that integrate mindfulness into daily living.
Biofeedback sessions provide education and real-time feedback on heart rate variability (HRV), muscle tension, and other body signals, helping patients consciously influence their nervous system.

ADVANTAGE
At Our Clinic
At GWCIM, we use meditation, mindfulness, and biofeedback as clinical tools alongside acupuncture, functional medicine, somatic therapy, and more. Our providers are trauma-informed, clinically experienced, and skilled at meeting each patient where they are — whether you're brand new to meditation or looking to deepen an existing practice.
We also integrate these tools into broader treatment plans for chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, EDS, long COVID, mental health, and cognitive decline, recognizing that nervous system regulation is central to healing in virtually every condition we treat.
Care Options
Personal Sessions
During private sessions with our practitioners, patients learn how to meditate, self-regulate their nervous system, use breathing and movement practices, apply biofeedback, and integrate mindfulness into their daily life and healing.
Groups, Classes, Courses
We offer an MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) course once or twice a year. We are also planning to offer other types of mindfulness groups, such as “Basic Self-Regulation Skills” and small mindfulness retreats. Sign up for our newsletter to hear about upcoming courses and classes first.
Add-on to your other appointments
Mindfulness is often incorporated into many appointments at GWCIM.
Somatic Experiencing
SE sessions are focused on nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and somatic support.
HearthMath (HRV biofeedback) sessions
One-on-one sessions to learn the HeartMath approach to biofeedback. Patients practice HeartMath at home and can deepen their practice during the sessions with a practitioner.
Yoga Consultations
Mindfulness and meditation are part of yoga consultations.
Reiki
Reiki invites deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and a mindful reconnection between body, mind, and energy—allowing tension, stress, and emotional holding patterns to soften and release.
Clinical Hypnosis Consultations
Clinical hypnosis is a mindful, guided state of focused awareness and deep relaxation.
